SuperKubs

When I lived in Alaska several of my friends had Supercub airplanes, they flew them hunting and camping everywhere. At that time I raised and trained Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, when I showed some puppies to one of my Supercub flying friends he replied, "I want a hunting dog that will fit in the backseat of my Supercub, (a very small area) be able to hunt anything, and not try to fly the plane when I'm flyin it.

With that in mind and thinking of the demand for dogs for the retiring baby boomer generation I decided to create a breed of dog designed to be a companion dog that likes to hunt. Lets face it, hunting season only last a few months of the year the rest of the time we need a good companion dog.

I selected two hunting breeds that where small framed, biddable ,with lots of fun potential in the home, field, or vehicle.

SuperKub Babe the dam of the SuperKub breed is registered with NAVHDA. She is a Braque du Bourbonnais, this breed was developed by the poachers in France around 1600. The poachers bred them for hunting ability, short hair, small size, no tail, and quiet dispostion so they could put them under their coat and hide them coming and going from the village. Babe has perfect conformation for the published breed standard except she is a 1/4" shy of minumum heigth.

The sire is SuperKub Pal an AKC registered "French" Brittany. Once again small, biddable, and has good hunting instincts. The French Brittany is a little more laid back than the american brittany version. Pal has perfect confirmation for the AKC Breed standard for Brittiany.

SuperKub Rooster (pictured below) is my son's dog. Rooster is not from a Pal and Babe crossing.

Not all dogs are created equal.

I expose the young dog to as many different enviroments as possible, keep them from hurting them selves, show them the game, and see if they want to play with it.

There are many aspects in developing a good all around "Started" dog.
